About us

Little Swanswell Nursery is a local, caring, professional and fully qualified day nursery, providing care for children aged 0 -5 years.

We are ideally located nearby to Coventry City Centre, opposite the College and city walk in centre, within the Swanswell initiative area, which is bringing new regeneration plans to the local area.

We want to make both the child and the parent’s nursery experience to be positive, educational, sociable and memorable. We aim to provide a holistic approach to learning with the importance being on ‘learning through play and ‘child led’ experiences.’

We understand that the home environment is the greatest educational importance to children and that each child's personal experiences both in and outside the home environment is the basis of all children's learning.

Our Staff

Our staff are qualified with the emphasis on further education to degree level to ensure that our standards are met by all staff.

Each child has a key worker who is responsible for the care and wellbeing of the children as well as the observational and developmental learning of the children.

Parents as Partners

We encourage parents/carer's to contribute to their child's development and organise regular parent evenings and open days.

We encourage sharing of information between home and nursery as this allows the nursery to fully understand each Childs individual needs, striving for a positive and caring partnership.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Little Swanswell Nursery follows the national 'Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, a framework set out by the department of education, which recognises the overall nature of development and learning at this age.

There is an emphasis on children learning through interaction with people and exploring the world around them. The curriculum is used to guide children to stepping stones of development that encourages each child to progress their learning and development in order to advance to the next stage.
